Policy agreements
I will pay for the rental at least 30 days before my event. Refunds are not available after that time.
I and/or my catering staff will leave the building clean and in good condition, leaving the premises no more than 1 hour after the event end time. I understand that if the building requires an unusual amount of cleaning after my event, I will be charged for staff overtime or outside cleaning help at the rate of $60/hr.
I understand that I can access the Temple building and use the custodian or event coordinator's help starting one hour before the b'nei mitzvah service, and ending one hour after the reception. I will make sure my guests and vendors begin departing at my event’s end time. If I need more time in the building, or more help from TST staff -- either before or after my event -- I will let the Temple know in advance, and pay for the extra time at $60/hr.

I will ensure that my reception attendance conforms with the Temple's room capacities.
CEREMONY: 150 Seated
ONEG ROOM RECEPTION: 72 Seated / 110 Standing
SANCTUARY RECEPTION: 100 Seated / 150 Standing
BACK YARD: 80 Seated / 150 Standing
UPPER PORCH: 20 Seated / 30 Standing
LOWER PATIO: 16 Seated / 30 Standing

I will ensure that my event's menu conforms with TST's "Kosher-style" food policy as follows:
- Pork and shellfish are not allowed anywhere on premises
- Meat (excluding fish) may not be prepared or served in the kitchen
- Dairy and meat may not be served together in the same course

I will also ensure that raw onions are omitted from the menu due to Rabbi Cari's severe airborne allergy.

I will submit my expected event menu to TST staff at least 30 days before my event so they can confirm that it meets these requirements.
I will provide setup information (final guest count, layout of tables and chairs, etc.) at least ten days before my event.
If I am using a caterer, I will ensure that they submit the following to TST staff at least ten days before my event:
- Town of Winchester caterering permit (apply here online). Allow two additional weeks for processing.
- Town of Winchester one-day liquor license, only if alcohol is being served (download PDF application here). Allow two additional weeks for processing.
- Temple Shir Tikvah caterer's agreement (available here, and in the Event Planning handbook)
- Certificate of liability insurance
- $100 security deposit check, which will be cashed only if the terms of the TST caterer's agreement are not met.

If I am using a DJ or other vendor for entertainment, I will provide their name and contact information at least ten days before my event. If requested by Shir Tikvah staff, I will ensure that they provide their certificate of liability insurance.
I agree that Temple Shir Tikvah is not responsible for any loss of, or damage to, personal property or for any injuries suffered by any person(s) or their guests using the Temple facilities.
